Half a Decade of Transport 29
On Monday 26th October, Transport 29 turned 5 years old. We can’t quite believe it’s been that long since we registered the business, but here we are 5 years on, and here’s what we’ve been up to over the past 12 months.
· Hit half a million pounds annual turnover
· Built an entirely new TMS (Transport Management System)
· Taken on more than 20 new customers
· Moved from rural offices into the centre of Whitchurch
· Built a new quote tool
· Become main sponsors of Market Drayton Hockey Club
· Renewed sponsorship of Whitchurch Rugby Club
· Integrated AI systems
· And much, much more…
It’s been a busy year for us, and we’ve been pushing to take the company to new heights. With Teige now firmly bedded in and driving growth through sales whilst supporting existing customers, capacity was created for Harry and Jordan to focus on some longer-term projects. A slicker quote tool and a brand new TMS have been the main projects, and as we enter the final testing phase before go-live, we’re expecting these both to be implemented before Christmas.
The above projects are part of a wider effort to explore the benefits which AI (artificial intelligence) can bring to the table. Harry’s now fully integrated AI into his sales briefings, and this has brought significant time savings, along with helping pick up detail which may have previously been missed. We’re hoping to keep the momentum going with our shift to utilise AI more, and this may soon include things like quoting loads and storing PODs… Watch this space!
Moving from rural offices to a town centre location has been great for team morale too. We loved where we were at the start of the year, but being better connected and with more options to get out and about during breaks has been a real game changer for us. We were also able to decorate and make it a little more homely, including the very popular addition of an air fryer! Might sound daft to mention when it’s not directly linked to bigger profits or better performance, but building a more comfortable and cleaner work environment has been great for us… Even if we miss having the space for putting practice!
You’ll have seen us recently shouting about sponsoring MDHC (Market Drayton Hockey Club) and we intend to share plenty more on that over the coming weeks, once we get our hands on the new kit. Can’t wait to see it and show it off to you! This new sponsorship agreement sits alongside our existing sponsorship of Whitchurch Rugby Club and is another example of us investing in the local community and amateur sports.
As ever, we’d like to say a huge “thank you” to all our new and existing customers. Transport 29 is nothing without the people who keep us busy and (usually) out of trouble. For anyone who might have been following our story and reading our social media updates, please do get in touch and see how we might be able to help you too.
